Who had the nozzle when the cash was short?
At most pumps the shift register answers this question only after an argument. Readings are written by hand, nozzles change hands during the shift, and by the time the totals are added nobody is sure which attendant sold what.

Questions about shift and nozzle management
You set up the shifts your pump actually runs, with their timings, and assign employees shift-wise. Each shift has its own readings, reconciliation, closing and approval.
Normally the manager assigns the nozzle and the employee simply sees it in the app. If the manager has not assigned one, authorized employees can select an available nozzle. Either way the nozzle is linked to that employee and shift.
A meter correction can be set to require approval. The change is recorded with the user, the old value, the new value, the reason and the time, so corrections never disappear silently.
Shift reopening can require approval from an authorised role. The reopening and every change made after it are recorded in the audit trail.
